Faction is looking for an experienced Film, TV and Brand Licensing professional to join our team and help place our client’s recordings and songs into TV shows, commercials, films, video games and other brand opportunities.

As Head of Sync Licensing, you will be responsible for spearheading Faction's licensing initiative as well as running point on our publishing catalog. You will pitch music to broadcast networks, gaming companies, ad agencies, production companies, TV/Film Supervisors, etc. This position will also manage master and publishing clearance documentation for all recordings and compositions.

 

Job Duties:

• Source, develop and maintain relationships with music supervisors, ad agencies, filmmakers and all other potential licensing contacts

• Maximize revenues and creative opportunities by placing masters and publishing assets into fitting licensing opportunities

• Develop knowledge of market value for all recordings and compositions

• Negotiate deal terms and fees, and execute contracts for sync opportunities

• Assist in the signing of administration and co-publishing deals for Faction’s clients and work with Faction’s publishing partner to register and exploit these copyrights

• Maintain budgets and hit licensing and revenue goals

• Follow up on quotes, outstanding invoices and ensure execution of licenses

• Develop and maintain internal database of sync contacts

• Evaluate recording and publishing metadata to ensure accuracy and formatting consistency

• Obtain writer approvals where necessary

• Prepare quarterly reports on licensing activity

• Be an expert on all Faction artists and attend local shows

 

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with music clearances/licensing

• Must have existing client relationships within the industry

• Very strong organizational and project management skills

• Familiarity with online copyright ownership research tools including AllMusic, discogs, HFA and PRO searchable databases, etc.

• Strong understanding of Music Publishing and Copyright Law

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work with limited supervision and with multiple individuals in a fast paced and dynamic environment

• Ability to adapt to working with various stakeholders in a variety of environments

• Must be discreet and professional at all times and maintain absolute confidentiality as this position regularly handles sensitive information

• Must be a friendly, team player that excels in both a collaborative environment and in an autonomous role

• Must have a sincere enthusiasm and passion music of all genres and styles
